ucanUCAT ("we", "us") operates this UCAT ANZ preparation platform and is the data controller for the personal information described below.

Information we collect

• Account data — name or preferred name, email address, login credentials, and (optionally) your UCAT exam date.
• Usage data — questions attempted, answers, timings, session and mock results, flags, notes and progress metrics.
• Support data — messages and question reports you send us.
• Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, and basic security logs.

Why we use it

• To create and secure your account and provide access to purchased content (performance of our contract).
• To deliver practice, analytics and progress features (performance of our contract).
• To provide support and respond to reports (legitimate interests).
• To improve question quality and the platform (legitimate interests).
• To prevent fraud, abuse and account sharing (legitimate interests).
• To send service and, where you opt in, marketing emails (consent, which you may withdraw).

Who we share it with

• Merchant of Record — Paddle.com processes sales, subscriptions, payments, invoicing and tax compliance for our orders. We do not store your card details.
• Service providers — hosting, database, email and analytics providers acting on our instructions.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
• Authorities — where required by law.

Retention

We keep account and practice data while your account is open and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and accounting obligations. After that it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email ucanucat@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. Australian users may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level database security. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protection of your data seriously.

Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to run the platform. Any analytics cookies are used only to understand aggregate usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies will prevent sign-in.
